Yesterday, we welcomed two new colleagues – Leila Hanafi and Elsa Peraldi – to the Global Integrity team! Both are joining as managers on our research team, and will initially be dedicating their time to our Africa Integrity Indicators research, working closely with Sun-Min Kim and Johannes Tonn.
Selected from an impressive pool of candidates, Leila and Elsa bring with them a breadth of experience (4 continents and 24 years between them) and a depth of expertise that will strengthen our work on governance diagnostics, sharpen our focus on supporting the use of data as well as generating high-quality data, and add value to everything we do.
Leila – who earlier this year completed a Ph.D. on Governance and the Rule of Law – has worked previously on governance in the Middle East and Africa for the World Bank, with the Moroccan government, at the University of Kent, and with the World Justice Project.
Elsa has rich experience of working on governance assessments and diagnostics, as well as managing projects on social accountability and human rights in Latin America and Africa, with organizations including the World Bank, Transparency International and Freedom House.
We’re delighted to have Elsa and Leila join the team! It was exciting earlier this week to hear conversations taking place amongst the team in English, French, Spanish and Arabic!
