Integrity and Anti-Corruption
Fighting Kleptocracy in Central Africa
We provide strategy support and learning accompaniment to help the coalition think through and craft their overarching theory of change, test and track whether the planned activities lead to the envisioned outcomes and support the coalition members in building their capacity to reflect and adapt throughout the process in an effort to ensure the sustainability and effectiveness of the coalition.
We want to bridge the gap between international and local anti-kleptocracy efforts by highlighting the connections between high-level actions and problems citizens face in their daily lives. The Coaltion’s goal is to educate everyday citizens how kleptocracy negatively impacts their lives.
Objective
We are learning whether interventions undertaken by local actors can start shifting the conversation around kleptocracy at country and international levels, and how we can better support frontline actors in crafting and implementing adaptive strategies to tackle kleptocracy at the country level, particularly by engaging citizens.
Approach
We support the coalition’s strategy of tackling kleptocracy at the country level and learning how to make their efforts more effective through cycles of learning and action. Their goals are to:
- Educate citizens on the impact of kleptocracy to plant the seeds for enabling citizen engagement on the issue.
- Building a network of national, regional and international players around kleptocracy in Central Africa.
- Embedded cycles of action learning into their proceeses, to help them make their efforts more effective.
